In the EP "Fold" MAÍRA are folding up, laying in a bed of cotton candy, and pulling the blanket up just below their eyes, hiding from themselves or the entire world "Versteckis", for protection, but also to gather strength, find anger, and later unfold again – in three languages, in an avant-garde pop orchestra of experiments, heartbeats, and tenderness.

After two solo EPs, "Fold" marks the first EP as a trio, bearing the signature of three young musicians who bring together a variety of elements into a cohesive whole: the fragility of Portuguese, English, and Swiss German lyrics by Maíra Zaugg, the experimental production by "Out of Genre" Demotape Clinic winner _pron0ia_, and the sensitive pop grooves of Simon Guyer.

The three songs tell stories of the self-destructive urge to perfect "Self-Care" ("Empty Cup"), climbing mountains ("Zuckerwattenäbelschwade"), or the desire to find peace in a nest made from a single leaf ("Versteckis"). They play with reversed piano recordings and orchestral metal guitars, with brief moments to catch your breath amidst a plethora of sounds and emotions. "Fold" accompanies the beginning of a new love for oneself.

«Fold» was released June 21 via Lauter Musik.
